Enjoyed at the cellar. Pours black as night. Roasted malts are very present, so much so, I originally thought that they poured me a Coffee Shop Vibes by accident (and continued to think so until I actually had that version a month or two later). Solid stout, alcohol well hidden.

this is a huge stout, but predictably well done considering who is ultimately behind it. i liked this better than the hoppy stuff so far, and it really does seem to have some similarities to the enormous derivation, minus the barrels and all the crazy additives, this seems like a perfect base for that kind of thing, dark chocolatey and bitter, with a ton of roast, substantial body, and a pretty dense and complex grain flavor, maybe some oats and wheat in here too, its fluffy and round like that, and it lingers forever in the finish without being any sweeter than it needs to be. i do get a little bit of yeast flavor to this, not quite english, but bready and sort of rich feeling, obviously compatible with all this malt. notes of fudge and bakers chocolate as it finishes and a coffee flavor as well. i know they did a coffee version of this but i missed it, im sure its amazing, this seems perfectly built for something like that. the alcohol is well hidden at first, but it really does come out when it warms up, not sure how much of this anyone could realistically drink, but its impressively well made. i expect we start seeing all kinds of variants...
