Poured a clear golden color with a small, fizzy, white head of foam. It smelled of pine, citrus and caramel. Tasted of sweet citrus with a nice caramel malt backbone. A touch of piney bitterness.

clearly i am in the minority on these, but i am not yet ready to call the clean beer at side project among the best in the world like their wild beer is. this is a pretty tasty ipa, frothy and bright and really juicy, it tastes nice, but is it one of the best out there, not even close i dont reckon. hazy and heady, it looks very much in style. juicy hop nose but not hurting for the bitter aspect of the hops either. grapefruit juice, and orange on the citrus side come to mind, a little fresh pine in there too, fresh and sort of botanical smelling. the taste is piney too, with a nice bitter fresh component as it finishes. the grain is a little weird for me, it gives the beer a nice soft round mellow feel, but i get a little wet cardboard here, not quite sloppy, but all the way dialed in either. the freshness here is fantastic, and the hop profile is cool, but its not overly unique and it just doesnt blow me away like the wild beers these guys have become so well known for. i would not line up for this one...
