i believe there is a definitive formula to crafting a great pilsener, or rather, several of them, but this beer without a doubt follows one of those roadmaps to the treasure, this is a great take on the style, a little hoppier than the older school examples of it, but a gorgeous and forever drinking kind of beer that tastes and feels completely professional. the first lager i have known these guys to have produced, golden and creamy white headed with a relaxed pace of carbonation moseying to the surface. i smell a mix of floral and grassy hops with the slightest lime element, maybe a mix of noble and northwestern varietals, although i cant confirm, i get the right bitterness for the style, that part i key, but then also some flavoring that really works with this simple and dry cereal malt base. faint citrus and honey, blossoming flowers, and dried straw. i think this beer is exceptional, the kind of stuff i want to session on hard, its dry and explosively carbonated, its flavorful more than most because of the hops in here, and it remains delicate and well within the confines of the style guidelines. purists of the old school may call it too hoppy, but i call it tastefully modern. awesome beer!

A - This is an exceptional looking beer, a crystal clear golden body, short white head that fades quickly, and minimal lacing.
S - Strong noble hop hit, spice and funk, mild malt hints of cracker. Super on-point for style.
T - Follows the nose, but with a strong lemony hop hit that must come from the dry hopping. The close is mildly bitter, but it is all about crisp, clean pleasure.
M - A very brisk carbonation, and very mild dry close.
O - This is an expert rendition of the style, very tasty, with great feel. Delicious.

16oz can served in a willi becher glass. This was enjoyed not long after having a glass on draft at Side Project Brewery.
Pours a clear golden yellow body, one finger thick white head, good retention, not much in way of lacing. Smell is biscuit, that distinctive lager yeast mineral aroma, touch of cracker and even a bit of noble hop aromas; floral and a bit of citrus. Flavour follows, clean lager mineral yeast, cracker, floral, biscuit and a slight bit of lemon. Lots of flavour, yet light and refreshing. Mouthfeel is medium-lighter bodied, appropriate for the style, good carbonation, crisp and refreshing. Plenty of flavour, really a very tasty brew. Overall, a tasty pilsner with a very nice crisp hop aroma to it. Great for this time of the year, very good choice for Shared to brew this in August.
