In what turns out the be the universal cheat code for hazy IPA, the Shared group goes with Vic Secret, Galaxy and Motueka hops for a citrus and tropical blend that's gives the beer an exotic 'land down under' flare.
Expectedly turbid with a heavy matte finish, the pastel taupe and chrome colored ale swoons with those promised fruit forward perfumes of citronella, tropical fruit and hints of peach, herbs and melon. Initial malt flavors of honeysuckle, pastry dough and shortbread lay on the tongue with a simplistic sweet and bready tone.
But the star of the show are the New Zealand hops and how they play out on the early palate. A soft and simmering maltiness supports the tropical influence of hops for a lead in of passionfruit and pineapple before a continued taste of lime and peach. Yet trending herbal with green teas, fresh grass clippings and a curious drift of hemp. As a gin-like spices offers a smooth bitterness, the late palate seems mojito-like.
Medium bodied an richly malted, the beer carries a malty dry disposition into a medium long finish of hemp, herb and verbena with a continuance of that botanical gin quality. Skip and Whistle is an effortless New England styled IPA that showcases the exotic nature of New Zealand hops exceptionally well.

Wonderful aroma. Great flavor. Murky. Medium mouthfeel. They call it an IPA but it’s a NEIPA.
