Missouri Wild Ale aged on raspberry and grape pomace.
Reflections represents our small batch, experimental run of MIssouri saisons and wild ales in which we age the beer in barrels that have had exemplary lives or un-rinsed fruited barrels for a softer, more subtle fruit expression - which is reflected in the final beer and blend.
This blend was bottle conditioned for more than a year after resting in oak barrels which held raspberry and chambourcin pomace.

375 mL bottle. Pinkish amber. Smells intensely acidic. Acetic with sour raspberry. Tastes of deep and very sour raspberry. Acetic back end. Quite sour. Even small doses are too much.

Poured from a 375ml bottle. Color is a mixture of lavender, ruby red, and brown. Nose is grape and slight raspberry. Taste is great -- the raspberry and great complement the tartness very well. I love the fruit and acidity levels on this.

poured from a 375mL bottle into stemmed glassware. pours an odd slightly muddy brown with a tint of ruby red in the right light. musty oak and grape aromas with the slightest hint of raspberries and red wine. taste is fairly tart not overly so with the fruit well integrated. again, i get a red wine grape flavor with a little bit of green apple and raspberry and dry oak on the finish. mouthfeel is medium bodied. finishes dry and a little watery. overall, an interesting (albeit solid) entry in the Reflections series. very red wine-esque if you dig that and not overly fruit-forward.
