Another pickup from a layover when the lazy was out and about. Was a bit surprised these were already about 100 days old when purchased right from the brewery.

Pours a standard golden yellow color familiar to millions or billions as 'beer'. Almost hits clarity discussion. Ubiquitous color. 1/4" thin white head. Also surprised to see Mosaic and Citra listed as dry hops. Couldn't smell them. Was it age? Of course not, they wouldn't sell you a product at that point if it fell off, right? Right (anakin meme)? Anyways, feint hops of rind and pine like detection going on.

Taste brings a standard basic low malt pale ale with C hop like attributes. Citra and Mosaic still absent, Cascade seems to bring 98% of the hop weight. 50 ibu like bitterness of a grapefruit rind and pine needle forest, minimal two row, maybe pilsner malt. Example where crystal malt addition would improve the beer.

This sufficed as good enough, but at about $4 a can, I think I'd rather have some of those comparable (or even better) $1.50 beers from the supermarket that taste kind of similar.

Pours a orange-yellow with a light haze to the transparency. Head is two fingers of white foam. Aroma is grapefruit, grass, tangerine, and guava hops with mild bready malts behind. It is hop forward, but the hops aren't boisterous, allowing the malt shine underneath. Flavor profile continues that train, putting tropical fruits forward - grapefruit and mango - alongside melon and grassy hops. Bready and light earthy malts dry out the finish, bringing balance to the beer as a whole. Mouth feel is medium in thickness with a soft crispness throughout. It falls short of being refreshingly crisp, landing more in the middle ground. Overall, a soft spoken pale ale that puts hops forward, but allows the malt to shine through too. It's easy going, and yet engaging.

Served in a 15.5oz Speigalau tulip from a 16oz can.

poured from a 16oz can into a willi becher pint glass. pours a fairly clear gold with a finger of thick white foam. this could pass for a cloudier lager in appearance. floral nose with a light dank pine aroma. taste is floral hops, dank bubblegum and a touch of citrus. it’s pretty even keel in flavor but it’s not at all bitter and it’s quite drinkable. exquisite mouthfeel for a beer of this “size” - quite full and nice level of carbonation. a really drinkable and flavorful midwest pale ale.
