Had on tap. Midnight black opaque body with a dark brown ring. Smells strongly of rugged bourbon and dark roast coffee with a bittersweet chocolate fudge, hint of brown sugar. Taste is a dark and heavy dose of the fudge and coffee with waves of warm bourbon washing over, dark wet oak and black strap molasses with a kiss of leather come into focus in the background. Feel is warm, defined most by how super thick and heavy this is, you can chew on this til the cows come home. For that time of year when winter comes back after you had a spring preview and you need a beer as dark as your soul to anchor you through the remaining cold night

What a great barrel aged stout. It poured on tap nearly black and glossy with a chocolate colored rim of foam. Nuanced whisky barrel flavors from being aged in Weller 12 yr barrels for 38 months, imparting oak, vanilla, and wheat. The bourbon flavor is strong but not overpowering. Rich chocolate and quality coffee flavors compliment the bourbon barrel and enhance the light roast base stout. Overall excellent craftsmanship.
