Poured a black body with minimal head and no lace. The aroma has notes of wood and booze, and while possibly there's some dark chocolate being picked up I really just get booze. Heavy body, softly dry, boozy, rich notes of dark fruits and roasted malts as beer has a burnt sweetness to it along with touches of something akin to raisins in the mildly boozy finish.

Pours a viscous, oil-black sheen in the glass, seeing no head form, nor any evidence of residual effervescence reaching the surface; near-flat.
Aromas bring cognac into heavy oak tannins, with residuals of soft apple turnover and raw dark cacao easing to tinges of gooey toffee over time.
Taste features a baked apple essence flowing alongside cognac edges, sporting a subtle undercurrent of oak throughout as silky caramel and dates are expressed across a charry vanilla undercurrent.
Mouthfeel shows a medium-full body accompanied by no perceptible carbonation, leaving a thick, nearly syrupy texturing progressing to a slick back end and steadily drying past the swallow with a creamy, oaky prickle.
A dense strong ale, heavy on supportive barrel overtones as dark fruits and flaky pastry prevail beneath.
