My 3rd at Kenosha 5k Border War Beer Fest and was a bit apprehensive of this being over-sour.
Instead, I found a very sophisticated young brewer.
The tart is done just right. It does not over-power the malts and finishes mostly dry with the sweet fruits peeking in briefly.
High alcohol for the style, but it is well concealed!
My first from Ahnapee and wondering how a young brewery can nail a difficult style for a difficult palate (I'm a malt-head), I went on their website and found the answer: they have their own business model of not going the IPA and extreme emphasis. Instead Ahnapee makes nice beers that please themselves and their customers in rural Wisconsin... a bunch spoiled by lots of good brewers.
