A fantastic "new style" (Yeah, not going there) IPA that has the familiar unfiltered look. Added lactose. Galaxy hops based with other bits. Juicy as hell, tasty, smooth for 8% but not quite as resinous, piney or hoppy as I generally like my IPAs or DIPAs. Still this is great stuff and for those interested in the NE style of IPA, seek it out. Really creative brewery. I think where it falls just a bit short is in the bite. It's almost too smooth, and I need a reminder that hops are present. But Galaxy has that weird over-ripe tropical fruit delivery which can undermine the impression of bitterness. Well made.

Thanks, Nick!

Got this from Nick on his recent trip to San Diego. He always brings Odd13 and I’m always grateful. Overall I don’t think I give them enough credit. Two of the Odd13 beers he brought were Intergalactic Hunter brews, this one a 4.0 after giving 3.0 a 4.16 overall. Apparently these are different batches. Back of the can read, “Intergalactic Juice Hunter is a Double IPA hopped with Galaxy, and some other stuff. This is a pilot batch so anything we say right now is subject to change. Contains lactose.” So basically Galaxy and some other hops. Not the biggest Galaxy fan, but I like it with other hops. Was looking forward to trying the difference between the two beers, hoping this one was at least as good.

Poured a pale hazy color with one finger of fizzy white head. Calm setting underneath. Outstanding spotty lacing. Decent retention. (Sight - 3.75)

Smelled melon, cantaloupe, Galaxy, orange juice, orange sorbet, orange creamsicle, passion fruit, floral, orange blossom, mango and spoiled fruit. A little more potency in the can with guava, papaya, mango and orange blossom shining. (Smell - 4.25)

Tasted a bit out of whack at first. No hiding that 8 pct. ABV. Got melon, cantaloupe, spoiled fruit, orange juice, mango, passion fruit, Galaxy and papaya. (Taste - 4.00)

Medium body. Oily-to-creamy texture. Lively carbonation. Juicy, but bittery finish. (Feel - 4.00)

This was outstanding, but I preferred the 3.0 more for some reason. (Overall - 4.00)

this one was better than 2.0, but well shy of 3.0 and, my favorite, 1.0. We need the hop mix to gravitate back to that 1.0 formula. that was perfection.
