Toby Wan Kenobi was brewed with the local mayor, whose name might be Toby, and released at the SoPro Taproom on draft and in 6-pks. of 12-oz. cans on March 14, 2020, to kick off the 2020 Census, and was released subsequently on a very limited, local basis. Had poured from 12-oz. can, bottom stamped (apparently) canned on "03/11/20," into nonic pint.
SoPro's second ESB is very different from its first. Jack the Sipper was typically malty and fruity, but more bitter and dryer for a more English than England experience.
TWK is lighter in malt, much creamier, less fruity, and more typically hopped. A delicious ESB good for a Premier League double bill at your local.

Can (from the brewery) to glass.
This beer is delightful. Nice color but a bit lighter than most ESBs. Orange with perfect carbonation and head retention. Smells of malt and hints of hops. What you'd expect from an ESB. Taste less malty than most ESB with crisp spicy hop. I enjoyed it more than most ESBs but it isn't at all hop heavy, just not malt heavy. Mouthfeel was clean and crisp and coated the tongue with a great balance. No specific after flavors. It falls off the palate with a nice balance as well. If you drink it, “You’ve taken your first step into a larger world.” It's very tasty and easy to drink.
