Had Southern Skies poured from pint can, bottom stamped (apparently) canned on "08/09/24," into pilsner glass.
Pours straw-yellow with clarity and 1-finger near-white head, with good retention, leaving Belgian lace scattered down the glass. Aromas of sweet pilsner malt and somewhat tart stone fruit off pour, and then a little hop spice as warms. On tasting, begins sweet, mild malt, immediately joined and balanced by crisp herbals, which shape into a little hop spice and a bit of resin, before a crispy, still a bit malty, but mostly clean finish.
An uncomplicated but finely-crafted American lager, with a clear German influence, malty but balanced with mild Noble hops, for a crispy finish.
