Another from the line of pilsners during an afternoon in June 2023 at the brewery after yet another round of disc golf. They branded this as a pre prohibition era pilsner.
Usual golden appearance, all their beers looked good. This one seemed like the best, full 2/3" white head, good clarity. The aroma was the usual amount of lager yeast taking up the primary nose space, a tad of hops and barley behind that.
The taste continued on, basically a slightly bit of "more" essentially in this recipe. Just a smidge more hops, barley, non barley malt (corn?) and alcohol. Still that crisp feeling in the mouthfeel indicative of well made for the style without going heavy at all in the mouthfeel. Someday I suppose.
Despite having like, 4 pilsners in a row, they were all good, but also all pretty similar, nothing really stood out far from the median. Riddles are abound tonight. Good sax solo. Love the prickly bitterness and carbonation.

Amazing clarity. Pours crystal clear. Just the lightest touch of bready malt with some corn notes. Drinks clear, slightly hopped on the back end. This is a good one.

Thank you Justin for including this one in a box. I love getting these hyper-local beers.
12oz silver can, no label - dated 04/08/20 - poured into a flared Wili Becher pint at fridge temp.
Pours an absolutely crystal clear pale straw golden, topped with three fingers of dense, puffy, off-white head with excellent retention - leaving significant clingy lace behind.
Nose: Super grainy. Not only is there a ton of pilsner malt, but it even has a serious grain dust note, which is just super Texas. Often rustic Texas bourbon will have that dusty, funky grain silo note, and it's just part of that signature "Texas terroir". There may even be corn in this one. Minor sweet breadiness, and just a touch of floral, herbal hops.
Palate: This is definitely an adjunct lager. The beer greets the palate with an initial grainy sweetness that stays surprisingly restrained. It has that adjunct sweet character, but there's a really wonderful hop presence that cuts that right down and actually makes this taste like real beer. Some of that rustic dusty grain comes through, giving this a real handcrafted feel to it. A hint of nastiness, a hint of breadiness, and then a nice bitter, spicy, floral American hop character - slightly resinous, slightly oily, and a nice firm bitterness leading to a nicely dry conclusion.
Mouthfeel/Body: Nice light, crisp, snappy body with enough malt to prevent it from being watery. The hop oils lend some nice texture as well. Effervescence is absolutely perfect - not too weak, not over-carbed. Drying, oily finish.
Overall: I'm rating this for what it is - an American adjunct lager - my least favourite style. Not only does this taste NOTHING like the big macro lagers, but even just as a beer in general - it's damn good. An excellent display of what this style SHOULD be - flavourful, delicious, crisp and refreshing. Very well done.

Had it on tap at the brewery. Served in a tall pilsner glass. Clear yellow color with a nice white head and good lacing. Sweet grassy smell and taste. Very clean taste, slightly fruity and a bit of sweet spice.

32oz Crowler canned 12-9-18 at the brewery
Pale straw gold, clean with a 1" white head and very good retention. Patchy lacing.
Corn sweetness in the nose, faint cracker/bread and subtle spicy hops.
Balanced and clean, no flavor dominates...a touch of sweetness in the middle but dries out in the end. Good beer.
Soft mouthfeel, light body, medium carbonation and a dry finish.
Light, crisp, full of flavor and poundable.
GABF 2018 Gold Medal Winner.
