Growler picked up tonight at the Boise COOP for $7... shared with inflatablechair. Pours a clear light orange with a decent enough white head... good lacing.. sorta flimsy cap.
The nose is lightly phenolic... some Bazooka Joe pink bubblegum and peppercorn... something else in there that I am having a hard time describing other than "Belgian".
Flavor mirrors the nose with an appropriate malt/graininess ... again the peppercorn... hints of lemonzest... dries out toward the end.... finish is long and yeasty.
Not sure how the Rye is really coming in... seems a bit slick on the mouthfeel and the grain profile is a bit dusty.... my palate is feeble on picking out rye malt.
Body seems a bit thick for the style, but not really bad... the heavier body accentuates a sorta lower carbonation.... more bubbles would help bring this one more in line.
Pretty nicely done... no real flaws, just needs to be dialed in, but certainly a good jumping off point.
