The Tarasque was a (most likely) mythical creature that has the head of a lion, six bear legs, a turtle shell, and a scorpion tail. It was probably some sort of an insect dinosaur hellbeast. A lady nun sang it to sleep in French Wallonia to end its reign of terror. Super fruity, blossoming with yeasty spicy aromas, Tarasque is a beast you will want to overcome you, but it will softly sing you to sleep instead.
The Inside Scoop: Rather than simply showcasing malt or hops, Belgian beers are generally complex and yeast forward showing off esters (fruit notes) and phenols (spicy characteristics). Our Saison leans French but is loaded with Australian hops. We think our Tarasque tastes like a spicy pear.
Original Gravity: 12 Plato
Final Gravity: 0.5
IBU: 41
Bittering Hops: Bravo
Aroma Hops: Australia Summer
Dry Hops: Delta, Australian Summer
Malts: 2 Row, Pilsner, Rye
Yeast: French Saison

Wiseacre Tarasque has a very thick, foamy, mouse, off-white head, extremely heavy lacing left behind, and a hazy, sediment (large & small tan-gray chunks)-filled, bubbly, yellow-gold appearance. Aroma is of lemony white spiced bread and horse blanket. Taste is of those elements, with some sweetness and fairly strong bitterness, especially within the the creamy foam. Mouthfeel is medium, and Tarasque finishes medium dry.

I had this beer in my fridge already, and received another from woodychandler today. I guess it is time to try it. Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a golden color with a 1/2inch head. Smell is of fruits, malts. Taste is fruits, spices, malts, refreshing. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is an easy drinker, I can't believe the glass is empty already.

Pours an effervescent & slightly hazed amber with 3 fingers of fluffy eggshell colored head. Stellar head retention & lacing
S: Pears ( faint), herbal & woody hops once warm
T: Pears & peppery yeast, a little orange peel as well up front. Faint caramel notes mix with green appleskins & aspirin & dryness as this warms, a little mango as well, plus leafy hops. Finishes semi-crisp, with leafy & peppery hops & plenty of green appleskin & a little grapefruit at the very end...
MF: Light/medium body, fairly creamy carbonation, good balance
Pretty good crack at the style,

Appearance: Light gold, white cap, good lacing.
Aroma: Fairly complex mix of floral-citrus-spice with a touch of ripe fruit quality. Malt is mild but present.
Taste: Again, complex with more ripe yellow fruit and spice apparent. Flavor is on the mild side but all the elements hang together so well the impression is of more flavor. Good sum of the parts going on here.
Texture: Medium
Overall: Brewer calls it a Saison Belgian Style Ale and that works for me. Tasted blind I would've guessed a lighter Blonde Belgian. Good stuff, worth a refill.
