We electrified the demure Belgian Single with zippy tartness and flavors provided by a lactobacillus fermentation, the addition of bright Cara Cara orange zest and sweet, rich pomegranate. After a long vacay in Tequila barrels, our beer version of the tequila sunrise is AVAILABLE NOW to take you on your own journey to a land of unicorns, dive bars, and sandy beaches.

2019 bottling
Pours a hazed rusty brown/bright red body (though maintains a deep clarity after it sits) and is topped with two fingers off-white, soapy/bubbly foam; decent head retention yields a spotty cap, a thicker, frother collar, and no lacing.
Aroma opens with an agave nectar sweetness leading into lacto funk; fresh orange and pomegranate are defined citrus in the middle; more rounded tequila barrel appears as the beer warms, while an herbal caramel and leafy funk pops along the way.
Taste brings out more subtle, silky agave nectar around the pomegranate and grapefruit as the profile as a whole gains an earthy and grainy density over time; lactic funk is balanced evenly throughout.
Mouthfeel has a medium body with equally moderate carbonation; consistently silky, and a very mild grit accentuating a light citric tartness into the finish.
Smooth throughout, with every element from the fruit to tequila barrel holding a firm influence. A tartness/acidity very much on the milder side seems to hold this from being more expressive, but in contrast can't deny this beer its approachable nature (not to mention an easygoing intro to tequila barrel-aged sours).

Pours an effervescent copper with minimal white head. Zero head retention & lacing
S: Citrus, some grainy notes, lime and TQ notes once up to room temperature
T: Orange, lime, certainly hints of Tequila with the requisite dryness up front. Orange sweet tart, a little lime & tequila dryness as this warms
MF: Medium body, restrained carbonation that builds back up as it warms
Pretty drinkable, but was hoping for more, below their usual bells curve of goodness
