From the brewery: Our kettle-soured Flemish Red (Que Onda Roja) aged in Cedar Ridge Shorts Whiskey barrels for up to 4 months. Tart Cherry and Caramel notes play with a charred vanilla from the oak with a little booze in the nose. Que Onda Retaca= What's up Shorty (Short's Whiskey barrel)
This is a great sour red to start with. The whiskey really comes out in this, along with some nice oak from the barrel. Perhaps a little boozy for my taste, but overall a really really great beer from Big Grove.
