A: This poured a nearly opaque dark gold with some white head.
S: It smelled like waxy and grassy hops, with some minerals and herbs.
T: It tasted like waxy and grassy hops, with some minerals and herbs. It had a clean bitter aftertaste.
M: It was watery with lot of carbonation. Decent body.
D: This was a decent saison with a fairly simple scent and taste. Not much oyster, aside from the extra mineral character. The body was ok, and the finish was smooth enough, so it wasn't difficult to drink. Not bad, but nothing special.

Bottle:
This beer pours a bit darker than I would've expected. A deep golden almost leaning towards a little brown. I wonder if the use of oysters turned this darker than I expect from a standard saison.

The beer has a nice saison smell, with hay, grass, and herb coming across nicely. There is a little earthiness to it as well. With warmth a little sweetness comes on as the dry grass notes fade a bit.

The taste is similar to the nose, but leaning more on the earthiness than the grassy notes. The feel is like that of soft water, and the beer is fairly dry early. With warmth, I start to get a little sweetness in the second half of the taste, and eventually a bit of a wet sand note as well. Maybe I'm imagining the exact nature of the flavors, but there are flavors that open up with some warmth.

As I started getting the flavors in the back, I started enjoying the beer more and more. Definitely will grab this on occasion if it is available.

750ml bottle picked up in Falls Church, VA while selecting a mix of local brews at the packy.

The appearance is much more golden than I expected for a 5.5% saison, appears more/darker malts were used than typical for the style. Not too fresh a nose. Taste is Jekyll and Hyde: I get the crispness of a saison, but also very ale-like malt profile and astringency from the hops.

Overall, this was not a very memorable beer, this tried to be both a hoppy pale and a saison but ended up kind of jumbled. I assumed since this was a "farm brewery" the farmhouse/saison ale would be a specialty, but it appears based on the reviews that the imperial stouts are the sweet spot for this brewery.
