Our new Session IPL has the crispness and drinkability of a pilsner with the hop intensity and aroma of an IPA. Heavy doses of Amarillo, El Dorado, and Mosaic lupulin create big fresh strawberry and candied orange character.

On tap at Grimm in Brooklyn.
Pours an unclear light orange with thick, soft head.
Smell is fruity and juicy with notes of pineapple and melon.
Taste is crisp and fruity with a soft bitterness and notes of pineapple, melon and grass.
Mouthfeel is medium, creamy and well carbonated.
Overall, a very tasty beer. IPL? APA? IPA? Yeah, something like that...

On tap at Tap and Mallet in Rochester, NY.
This one pours a very hazy light orange color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells like orange rind/grapefruit rind, candied orange, pineapple, and grassy hops.
This tastes indistinguishable from an IPA, but it's still good. There's sweet candied orange, pineapple, and grassy/piney hops. There's definitely a really prominent crispness on the finish- the only real evidence that it's a lager.
This is light bodied, with a nice juicy and crisp finish, with a great level of drinkability.
It's very cool to see that Grimm is back to crushing it, now that they have their own brewery.

Can’t bear Grimm. A wispy appearance and it is much more on the Pilsner side as advertised. Some mild aromas and hops, but not much. This beer is good, not great, but more of a Pilsner than I’d like. So probably if you rated my ability to read, I’d get a 1 out of 5.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
