Notes: Jam Don’t Shake is an outrageously delicious collaboration with our Brooklyn neighbors Other Half. This PB&J-inspired imperial milk stout bursts out of the glass with mammoth flavors of raspberry jam and salty roasted peanuts. At a whopping 17% ABV, the alcohol is incredibly well-hidden within a velvety elixir of oats, caramel malts, and roasted barley.

I like the high ABV stuff and this was a good (though not at the very top of boozy tries for me). I had this on tap at Tre Monte in Tyngsborough. Like many upper ABV pours, this one had little carbonation. Color, taste & feel were as expected. Most dominating flavor was hints of berry. A nice offering but I enjoyed Grimm's other brew (Chocolate Cherry Icing On The Cake, which I had 1st) much more.

Deep dark brown where no light passes through the edge of the glass. Nearly no head and certainly no lace.

This has a boozy aroma with strong Port overtones. I get fresh blackberry and wild cherry to the nose.

Very rich body and flavor. Again, very much like a Port--strong alcohol with the berry flavors. The carbonation is very low, almost nonexistent. Boozy finish and aftertaste. Overall, I'd label this as a winter aperitif.

Bought and already had the version of this that was sold at Other Half, and was eager to give this a go after enjoying that! While this wasn't as good as the other iteration of it, I enjoyed it as it warmed up throughout my session. The raspberries didn't complement the peanut butter as well as the cherry did but I loved how they felt as the tartness was quite mild here. This was a sweet and tart Stout, if one ever existed, and not a smooth sipper even though the potent level of alcohol was very recessed!

Not a bad pour to this as the liquid was a dark raisin with some raspberry tint around the edges. Plenty of bubbly, salmon-hued head topped this off although the lacing left behind wasn't anything to behold as only a few scattered bubbles that might have resembled rings were left behind as I sipped this. A bit of sediment settled at the bottom of the liquid although this beer was consumed fresh! Loads of raspberries, milk chocolate, peanut butter, and a hint of booze were found in the nose as the taste was sweet, creamy, and a bit tart all at once as the milk sugar tied everything in together. Had this not been sweet, I would have seen this as an oddity but because this felt like a dessert beer, it went down easily given it's latent potency!

Chock full of booze, there was enough oil and nuttiness from the peanut butter and juiciness from the raspberries to hide the alcohol to a large extent. The sweetness was like jam, which was appropriate given this beer's moniker, but it never felt contrived or artificial. If you like your Stouts to be sweet and strong, grab this and the other take that was sold at Other Half. I've never had anything quite like either of these!
