Great Scott! Fresh batch of Gull Wing Door! Using that OG Lambo Door hop base of El Dorado, Citra, and Simcoe, Gull Wing Door gets the special addition of Nelson Sauvin. Still a juice bomb with big notes of overripe peaches and Haribo gummy bears, but the Nelson provides bright yet delicate fruit-forward notes of lychee and gooseberry.

Can from Vinyl Beer on the UES NYC. Pours a hazy yellow gold with a finger of foamy to rocky white head, nice lacing, smell is dank grapefruit, musty pine, hop cotton candy, tangerine peel, overripe melon and papaya, hints of orange blossom and yellow cake, taste follows the nose with dank grapefruit pith, candied orange peel, gooseberry, kiwi skin, hints of yellow cake and vanilla, very mild orange pith, feel is medium to full bodied, creamy. Another excellent hop/fruit/cake candy IPA from Grimm, and the Nelson adds nice gooseberry and dankness.

Canned 2/10/21

Pours a mild orange - it looks like mango juice right out of the bottle - with a solid inch of head. On the nose I'm getting rich notes of pineapple and mango. Taste follows the nose but not quite as strong as the nose implies. Mouth feel is a mild at first with a little bit of a bite from the carbonization at the end. Overall, excellent beer but I think I prefer the Tesseract DIPA from Grimm over this.

Love the way there is still bitterness, hop resins, perceptible alcohol, amidst the modern fruity tropical super flavorful hop characteristics. Typical of Grimm this is a mature offering that hits your juice cravings but rises above to present nuance and tight execution and a certain leanness and focus in flavor and mouthfeel. Really well made.

Served in a tulip glass from the can.

Appearance: Hazy light gold color with a white head which initially Rose just about a notch below one fingers length off the body.

Smell: Heavy hops in the nostrils like I took a handful of them and started shoving them up my nose. I am not complaining.

Taste: Malty and citrus sweet with a floral kick. Has a slight bread feel to the brew like I made a grapefruit sandwich including the skin.

Mouth: Sticky and extra thirst quenching. Not dry at all, like a tangerine meets yellow grapefruit juice but much deeper floral.

Overall: I like it, thankfully I bought a 4-pack. In lust, best after work. Salud!

A: Med-gold with a warm orange afterglow. Thin and creamy off-white cap. Semi-turbid with some sediment. Maybe I should have rolled the can first?

S: Pungent bouquet of a bright melon and tangerine forward white wine. Lychee jelly. Woodsy currant and red berries, stone fruit, and pineapple. Wonderfully counterbalanced.

M: Big med-full body, but also airy, juicy and fluffy feel. Slight alcohol warmth too, so you're not tricked into thinking it's straight juice. Samples as a perfect NEIPA.

T: Woods, mint. Fruity gummi candys: pineapple worms and peach rings. Crisp and refreshing pomelo-orange. Tart berries, honeydew. Mango-pine finish.

CANNED ON 01/13/20

Pour dark orange and cloudy with a creamy head that leaves clumpy rings of lacing. Aromas of melon, sugar cookies, OJ, and pineapple. Creamy, juicy hop flavor: citrus fruits, mango, pineapple gummy bears, peaches, and light grass. Smooth fullish body, a bit of alcohol, decently dry in the finish. Pretty good.

-deep orange tap pour with 1 cm of fluff and an aroma of fruit juice. The flavor includes mango, orange , melon and berry notes. The hop bitterness is low to moderate. This is a richly flavored brew with a smooth mouthfeel., quite good.
