Pours a deep, dark brown, ruby tinted towards the edges. 1" mocha head as it settles out with mild retention but good lacing. Nose is crushed roasted peanut, semi-sweet chocolate, black licorice, roasted malt, and booze as it warms. Taste leads with dehydrated peanut and roast; as it warms, fruitier flavors come out along with sweet chocolate, as well as salty, tangy Australian licorice; peanuts and booze on the finish. Mouthfeel is slick and coating with only a hint of carbonation. Had this first fresh and preferred it that way (the peanut flavor was more intense), but even with several months on it, it's still a nice beer.

Bottle from the brewery in BK. Pours black with a finger of tan head that lingers, smell is nutty chocolate cake, peanut shell, nice level of roast and salt, taste follows the nose with lots of salt, roasted peanuts, peanut shell, vanilla, brown sugar, chocolate syrup, the saltiness almost gives it an olive character, feel is full bodied with minimal carbonation, finishes dry. A very salty peanut candy stout.
