En Passant Franc is a blended barrel-aged saison conditioned on Cabernet Franc pomace from our recent Gathering season. A blend of young and old barrel-aged saison with young golden sour creates a gentle yet prickly acidity that is tempered by fruity saison phenols and tannins from the pomace.

Bottle from the brewery in Brooklyn. Pours a clear light pink kissed amber, with a thin white head, nice lacing; smell is frutti di bosco, sour red grape, tart red wine hard candy, plum skin, funky hay/mulch, hints of cherry, pear, and lemon; taste is tart red wine spumante, tannic grape seltzer, tart plum, tart cherry, lemon verbena, grassy funk, hints of pineapple, pear, and apple jolly rancher; feel is light, high carbonation, medium to high acidity, dry. A fruity sparking red wine treat, reminds me of wandering the back alleys of Campo to the shrine with a spumante rosso bottle in hand.
