This isn't for me. Lots of Madeira and barrel without much of anything to back it up. There is just a trace of something tart here as well. My least favorite barleywine from Grimm.

Poured at fridge temp. Pours without much carbonation. No head, but I do see a few tiny bubbles rising so it's not completely still. Dark murky brown color. The nose is red wine, sherry, and maybe some sweet toffee.
The taste is really interesting. Again, getting big notes of red wine. Some Armagnac slides in here as well. Toffee is there, but it's not strong. This is all barrel. I personally really enjoy it, but I could see it being a bit polarizing. It's like a beer-wine hybrid to me.

Reddish brown murky body, that lightens on the edges, tan ring that fades quickly. Musky sweet wine with barley leading nose, wet earth, red grape skins, and oak backing. Taste is dominated by the barrels, almost tart with the sweet wine and almost balsamic flavoring, barley is nonexistent, toffee malt is there in the aftermath. It’s not bad but not very balanced. Despite large barrel the feel is quite cool and smooth, but there isn't depth at all after the barrel layer. Had potential but balance is a little off

I’d like to visit the island of Madeira just to sample this local booze fresh & at the source, but it’s a serious flight even from Portugal. I looked. 500ML bottle. The closest I’ll likely come.
The pour is a lot darker than other pictures; maybe my eyes are going in my ancient age. No carbonation past my blowing into the liquid. Nose is deceptively quiet.
Village Green Preservation Society is sweet. Not unexpected considering the barrel, but it doesn’t offer a lot of depth or complexity beyond that. It’s like drinking Madeira lite.
Not much here. Solid barrel but the beer underneath is a ghost. Mediocre.
