Mild barleywine. Conditioned 6 months in the bottle, this 12% barleywine will only continue to improve with time over the next several years. Brewed with classic English malt and hops, this is the peak cozy season beverage worthy of sipping in a leather chair by the fireplace. It pours a mahogany color and entices with notes of fig, caramel, and autumn leaves.

Poured at fridge temp. Pours a nice dark brown with almost no head. The nose is wonderful. Rich caramel, mild hops, bread, apricot, plum, and a nice candy sweetness.

The taste is amazing. Follows the nose to some degree, but also departs from it in other ways. A leathery caramel with a citrusy hop notes come through right away. Raisin, pine, slight molasses, and a bit of red wine come next. This is so nicely balanced between a hoppy note and a sweet toffee/candy note. I'm not sure where the mild comes from, as I don't think this taste is mild (nor is the ABV). Strange. All I know is that this is fantastic.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied with mix of sweet and bitter on the aftertaste. Lovely beer overall.

Pours a brownish bruised puce from the tap, a tiny ring of head with no lacing or retention. Nose is light rum raisin and vanilla. Balanced treacle sweetness and dark fruit up front, mild tannic bitterness on the finish; plays sweet but not cloying. Feel is completely flat with moderate weight. Pretty good, but would like more depth (either towards the bitter end or the burnt sugar side of things).

500ml bottle served in a snulip. If there is a date, I don't see it. @Braunmeister_1943 sent it to me in a trade.

Pours a murky toffee brown, almost no head on the pour, though a ghostly dusting emerges slowly after the pour, leaving a tiny bubbly ring with a tiny island dead center. Looks thick, syrupy, actually the color reminds me of a dark maple syrup. Smell is dates and toffee, sweet with a deep woody earthiness.

Taste definitely has all that sweetness with the dates and toffee, woody earthiness intensifies into a bark bitterness. Bitterness is actually pretty striking, having a hard time pinning it down. Maybe burnt sugar?

Mouthfeel is thick, rich, not too lively but not disappointingly still, a little chewy and sticky. Overall, this is really nice.

This is outstanding. Bruleed brown sugar, toffee, potpourri-ish stone fruit and citrus, plus plenty of dates up front. It's pretty dry overall with a nice lingering bitterness at the finish, citrus peel, a biscuity sort minerality, and a hint of pine. Put this in packs instead of 500ml bottles and I'd buy a bunch.

Pours a frothy auburn/ochre with a very fine head. Aroma of pine, burnt brown sugar, citrus. Medicinal resin-y syrup with a dry finish. Moderate mouthfeel with very very delicate carbonation. Overall, this is the perfect combination of a traditional English barleywine and a contemporary American Barleywine!
