Old Mission is a dry, crisp and delicate pilsner with the light floral, white wine and gooseberry notes that characterize Nelson Sauvin hops. Named after a peninsula that splits Grand Traverse Bay in Northern Michigan, where we grew up--a land of vineyards, orchards and brilliant blue water.

16 oz can no date into a pokal.
L: SRM 2-3 Pours a very light straw light lemon yellow with light steady carbonation, a thin white head that soaps and moves to edge foam, almost no lacing.
S: Catty herbal hop notes, randy lemon, floral, slightly dank, caramel malts emerge with warming.
T: Bright lemon, lightly sharp lemon zest, floral, pear, a hint of fruit bread, gentle pastry sweetness, herbal hop notes, yeast, it is lightly pale and has a zesty linger.
F: Fairly brisk medium-light bodied feel with a medium-long drying finish.
O: Excellent taste & feel, quite fruity and finishes dry. Very refreshing with a sunny flavor overall. It is slightly lemon forward and is very good in its style.

We are supposed to rate to style, eh? Alrighty then. Even as a Schilling fanboi, this just doesn't work for me.
With only a handful of exceptions, I've never really enjoyed overly-hopped variations on styles such as pilsner, "IPL", stout, or brown ale.
Seems like hops for the sake of hops alone, and ruins the base beer IMO.
This one smells like perfume, which I also actively dislike haha!
Yuck!

I won’t waste a lot of words here: this beer is extraordinary. I can’t think of one I like better. The only two I might like as much right now are Jack’s Abby’s Hoponious Union and Post Shift.

Old Mission Schilling Beer Co. Pilsner - Other
Smells of dry cornhusk and grainy crackers. A deep, dry earth malt flavor is hearty and bold. Dry graininess and spice kick in the middle, very crisp and clean. The malt flavor is bolder than most pilsners. The Nelson hops give a subtle sweet fruity bite
