Bos fuses old farmhouse traditions with modern ingredients. Meaning “forest” in Dutch, Bos was crafted with wheat and abundantly hopped with Michigan-grown Cascade and a new varietal, Triumph. Hoppy and citrusy bubblegum aromas mingle with notes of white pepper and lemon-orange on the dry finish.

Can 9/18:
Poured a little more orange than I expected, though a respectable orange-hued golden. The body had a haze to it that fuzzed up items behind it. The head built up to near half the glass, with bubbles popping away immediately, but not too quickly. A gossamer sheath remained after a while, surrounded by a medium thin, but sticky collar. Lacing was pretty strong up front.

Nose was a nice mix of fruit and pepper - I would personally like a little more pepper to farmhouse to grass and a little less fruit, but this had a blend that was at least agreeable. With a little warmth, an air of dry attic dustiness snuck in, but the pear and nectarine fruit notes competed with it for my attention.

First sip had a little more tartness to the fruit notes - more nectarine backed by a watery Asian pear to red delicious apple note. After reading the brewer notes, there might be a sprtiz of lemon on the nectarine right in the beginning. The fruit notes were thankfully (for my tastes) joined by hay and light grassy herbal notes, which took over by mid-taste. Biting carbonation mimicked a pepper bite more than the light pepper spice note I got nearer the end of the sip. This beer was pretty dry from the get go. The initial after effect was a light numbing from the carbonation, but a nice bitterness built up as I drank through the glass.

This was pretty much what I was looking for when I purchased it. The fruit notes share the stage with the farmhouse flavors, and there's nice carbonation with a dry, nicely bitter finish.
