Burkhart is our interpretation of a strong German-style lager, a bockbier. This traditional style is characterized by a hearty and balanced malt profile and filled with notes of dark bread, toast and a kiss of toffee. Subtle hop bitterness balances the rich malts, and hints of roast and warmth are apparent. Lagered until beautifully round, this is a hearty beer for the late North Country fall.

L: Dark brown, with limited tan head which dissipates immediately.
S: Nutty, caramel.
T: Nutty, Caramel, with a little bitterness on the back end.
F: Moderate carbonation, medium bodied.
O: Haven't had a regular bock in a while. Not sure why this style isn't more widely available.

This is a well-made beer that is more a doppelbock than a bock. Long-lasting full head; deep mahogany color. Rich roasted malt taste with perfect hop balance.

Dark brown pour with a dense lacing head. Dark bread and nutty nose. The flavor is pumpernickel toast with a general sweetness that communicates chocolate and toffee. Really nice deep malt flavor. Sensational option for a chilly night. Schilling never fails.

Great tasting Bock from Schilling. No surprise there. Trying to rate to style, and I find most Bocks to be a bit thin. This seems especially so, as I'm on my 3rd of 4pk and came with the same opinion each time. Great flavors and aroma tho.

Brown/orange color. Three fingers of beige head. Awesome retention and chunky lacing. Nose is nutty, brown molasses, crusty bread and heavily toasted grain, steely, green oily and herbal hops. Taste follows pretty exactly. Medium sweet. Plenty of residual sugar apparent in the hefty and chewy mouthfeel. Deeply scrubbing bubbles with a carbonic bite. Just what the doctor ordered on a rainy spring day. Excellent.

Picked up at the brewery, awesome place. Canned 2021/10/14
Pours a med tan fizzy almost 1 finger head with med lower retention, dark mahogany to ruby color, crystal clear
Nose great toasted malt, a bit biscuity with hint of roast, big sweet Malliard bread crust with touch of caramel, some malt derived fruity esters with light fig plum kinda fruits
Taste brings more of the same, biscuity toasted brownish malts, little nutty toffee caramel but not to sweet, rich bread crust again but like a raisin bread crust, into more malt derived esters, plum, fig, date like fruits, light herbal hop bitterness, turning to a med-light spicy hop bitterness late, smooth light alcohol profile, drier and soft finish
Mouth is med bod but a bit richer, soft lager, med to higher frothy carb, very light smooth alcohol
Overall really well done bock, possibly the best style wise I've had outside Germany. I'm so glad a gambled on this and got a few 4 packs
