Pours a dark brown with hues of mahogany. Some chocolate and almond biscotti on the nose. That continues with some light roast coffee as far as flavor. The foeder seems to present itself in the form of anise. It's dry.

Had on tap at Schilling from a side pour handle. Very roasty and more bitter than I was expecting. Similarities to a Guinness IMO. Very nice beer, and enjoyed it quite a lot.

Draft at the brewery
Big foamy rocky tan head with great retention and lacing, clear dark mahogany color
Nose dark malts biscuity toasty but not too roasty, little chocolate, cookie spices vanilla
Taste rich malt, cereal grain biscuity cookie, toasted sweet bread crust, bit of chocolate, then med bitterness from spicy earthy hops, soft finish, dry, maybe hint tangy from the foeder
Mouth is med bod, med frothy carb, soft lager
Overall very nice
