Drinking out of a medium snifter at Blackback.
Pours a clear copper color with a medium head.
Smells somewhat nutty.
Malt forward.
Nice nutty taste with hints of caramel.

In a word, excellent. Good tasting almost crushable bock, with lovely malting, still kicking six months plus after canning. Can from a bottle king recently at markdown bargain.

Excited, another bock from Schilling. Canned 2021/12/09
Pours a frothy foamy almost 2 finger off-white head with moderate retention, brilliantly clear cranberry to auburn color

Nose bright sweet malt, caramel, toffee, rich Maillard toasted bread crust, some bright malt-derived ester fruits, cranberry, cherry, plum, light herbal spicy hop

Taste brings a lot more of the sweet malts with Maillard flavors, caramel, toffee, a touch nutty, plenty more sweet bread crust, with a bit of honey and caramelized sugars on top, fair malt-derived fruity esters again, cherry, plum, even a hint of strawberry I think, light hop bitterness with a hint of spicy flavor, light smooth alcohol, a bit of syrupy feel late, sticky mild sweet finish, a touch more bitterness

Mouth is fuller bod, yet soft lager like, med higher creamy frothy carb, touch of warming alcohol

Overall quite nice, great Bock bordering Doppelbock, great Maillard characters without overly candy like, not a ton of caramel either, great lager, just as expected from Schilling
