Inspired by our travels in the Franconian region of Bavaria, Schneeberg is the latest offering from our small-batch lager program. Rarely seen outside Franconia, Braunbier is a style backed by almost 500 years of history.
This traditional lager pours a light amber color with an off-white head. To highlight the origins of the style we used Weyermann's Isaria Pilsner Malt—a historic heirloom variety with Bavarian roots—as well as Organic Perle, grown at Franconia Germany's only hop farm.
Named for the highest point in the Fichtelgebirge—a mountain range in Upper Franconia—Schneeberg (pronounced "Schnay-berg") literally means, "snow mountain" in German.

Pkgd 3/16/26.
Pours a glorious amber gold with copper highlights.
A THICK, billowy white foam head (The Snow Mountain) caps and completes this beautiful beer.
Nose is light bread, biscuit, and nuts, with a whisper of earthy and flowery hops.
Taste follows both appearance and aroma.
Subtle, refined, and expertly-crafted.
Mouthfeel is splendid, as well. Perfect carbonation, and this beer is incredibly drinkable. Each sip delights, and each inspires the next. While highly quaffable, the complexity and near-perfection of this beer calls for restraint and contemplation. Appreciation.
A picture of old-world loveliness, but you're able to transcend merely the visual. You inhale the mastery, then it turns to liquid and you are able to savor the nuances of light and shadow; texture; and the expert artistic vision and execution.
And, thus, by consuming such beauty, you, too, are made beautiful.

Without question the finest tasting beer of this style I've ever had the opportunity to try. Dropped the ball on reviewing this beer when I had it. Never been much of a fan of the Vienna style until this epic sauce.

Canned 2025/02/03
Pours a fizzy off-white 1/2 finger head with fair to lower retention, fair lacing, slight hazy deep amber to candy red color
Nose brings grainy-sweet toasted biscuity malt, bread crust, a hint of caramel and toffee, a bit of sweet biscuits, mild fruity malt-derived esters, touch of of toasted chocolate, light herbal hops
Taste starts with more of the mild sweet characters, a bit of caramel, toffee, and a bit of chocolate, fair toasty with more sweet bread crust and biscuity toasty, fair herbal hops with a touch of bitterness, soft lagering, some layered complexity maybe single decoction mash, light fruity malt-derived ester notes, dry-ish finish, a touch more bitterness
Mouth is med bod, soft lager, med carb
Overall pretty good, solid lager with good malt characters, decent hops, good lagering, enjoyable
