Can from the Packie
Inky black color with a thin tan head that slowly recedes.
Rich roasty chocolate and bits of earthy tart fruitiness. Really tasty sipper.

Can dated 020720.
This was poured into a snifter.
The appearance was a beautiful dark brown close to black color with an eggshell to almost tan slim sheet of a head. Mellow glossy to stringy lace roaming around my glass.
The aroma touched on all of the parts mentioned by the brewer - the red raspberries, chocolate fudge brownie and milk sugar sweetness. Subtle wafer and dark chocolate slyly come in underneath.
The flavor leaned moderately towards the sweet side with a noticeable bitterness melding with chocolate wafer and red raspberries. Mild aftertaste of red raspberry tart to sweet qualities.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fair sipping quality about it. Some tart strength but not really noticeable the more I think about it. Good carbonation. Finishes with some dry tart red raspberries and chocolate fudgy notes.
Overall, as an imperial stout, it absolutely works and is well worthy of more pours this time of the year.

A: Pours a near pitch black color with 2 fingers of head that fades down to a thin cap
S: Roasted malt, raspberry, dark chocolate, brownies, caramel and light lactose
T: Follows the nose. Starts off with the roasted malt and raspberries and then picks up the dark chocolate, fudge brownies, and some caramel. Lactose very light but does provide some backing sweetness. Finishes with lingering roast, raspberry, and fudge
M: Full bodied with low-moderate carbonation. Thick
O: Another solid double stout from Burlington, this time throwing in raspberries, chocolate fudge brownies, and lactose. A classic chocolate/raspberry combo that works quite well. Worth a drink for sure
