A one time pour that emptied the entire contents of a pint can into a clear glass liter mug showed a overly carbonated beverage. The stark white foam seemed ever expanding, for a while. The liquid, typical lager amber in color, is rather translucent through all of the bubbles. As with many wheat-based brews, not that this is one, the foam recedes unevenly and unattractively, although it leaves some nice lacing in the glass. The aroma is interestingly woody, although that isn't necessarily appealing. It drinks smoothly, even for a lager and richer than most. Thankfully, whatever cedar taste influences there are, they don't bring the heavy handedness of the tannins gotten from oak barrels. As this is a lager, all of the taste impressions are subtle and in this case, pleasant. The cumulative experience is almost like having a good lager whilst sitting in a cedar closet, with the door remaining open. This ends up being a very nice, but unspectacular pint, with a unique character. It may not be unique enough to go out of the way for, but it's certainly worth a try. After all the extraneous foam collapsed, there was some nice stratified glass lacing, salvaging the rating for looks. Overall, it's likeable, but not something that would become a go to.
