awesome wild saison from these guys, aged in red wine barrels with brett claus, very mature, woody, winey, funky, bright, and drinkable. they also had a version of this with indigenous brett, but i was not able to try that one when we visited. this one is really well refined, just a little hazy, pale wheaty colored with a tall white airy head on it. aroma of wine berries and tannins, cherry even and blackberry and currant, lots of fruit coming through here. plenty of bretty funk too, dry and interesting, not much saison yeast, this might be a total brett fermentation, although the bottle doesnt not say so. newish wood too, that vanilla note i get from oak like this, and a fluffy and sturdy wheat base, bone dry, lots of room for barrel and wild yeast to expand on the palate and really flavor this one. drinkable too, easy and lively and fun, my brother dug it too. this stood out as different, especially with all the english and german styles they make in here, but i thought it was great, they really nailed it! id love to try the other one next time in town.
