Hoppy Blonde Ale brewed in collaboration with our fishing friend Colin of Six Pack Tackle. Mashed with local two row barley courtesy of Riverbend Malt House along with a healthy helping of flaked wheat. Fermented with our clean house ale yeast until bone dry. Assertively hopped with Citra and Medusa in the whirlpool and a Citra/Huell Melon combination dry hop.

L: Poured from a can to a pint glass. Had a golden yellow color and a clear consistency. There was a half inch of foamy, somewhat long-lasting head. Pretty good lacing.
S: A good aroma of hops, malt, citrus fruit, and some tropical fruit.
T: Tasted of a moderate amount of citrus fruit (orange, lemon), a surprisingly high hops content, a good amount of malt (present throughout), and light tropical fruit notes (mango, guava). A much more interesting flavor than your typical blonde ale. It's hoppy, but not overdone, and the addition of the fruits makes it work well. Sweet and effervescent.
F: A well-carbonated beer with a dry, smooth finish. Light-bodied.
O: This would probably be a good session beer - light, sweet, easy to drink. Worth a look.

A: Pours a very lightly hazy pale yellow in color with moderate to heavy amounts of active visible carbonation rising from the bottom of the glass and moderate straw yellow + pale golden yellow + lemon yellow colored highlights. The beer has a two finger tall sudsy foamy bright white head that slowly reduces to a large patch of very thin film covering the entire surface of the beer and a medium thick ring at the edges of the glass. Slightly heavier than moderate amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate aromas of citrus/grapefruit, citrus/orange, tropical/guava, tropical/melon, and berry hops over the top of pale + bready + wheat malts with a light amount of caramel sweetness.
T: Upfront there are just shy of moderate flavors of pale + bready + wheat malts with a light amount of caramel sweetness. That is followed by almost slightly juicy flavors of citrus/grapefruit, citrus/orange, tropical/guava, tropical/melon, and berry hops which impart a light amount of bitterness which does not linger too long in the finish.
M: Light to medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation.
O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol and a very pleasant hop profile in a blonde ale. Enjoyable and refreshing. I could easily have a couple of these the next time I get the opportunity to go out fishing.

Can (7/4 release)
Lightly hazed gold with a slim head. Fragrant orange and grapefruit, strawberries, and yellow cake. Light, easy-going hoppy flavor - berries, citrus, grass, and lingering hop oils. Crisp and crushable.

Expensive 6 pack. Hardly an hop presence for a "hoppy" blond ale.
