Appearance: Pours a somewhat opaque burnt orange with a modest cap; very leggy with streaks of lacing
Smell: Tart fruit and funk, with an interplay between the raspberry, cherry and strawberry tones; subtle oak tones
Taste: The tart red fruit flavors move in and out and as soon as I pin one down another appears; raspberry and strawberry are most prominent but the cherry wine puncheon also has an impact; funky and oaky, through the mid-palate, with the tart berry flavors lingering into the finish; the black peppercorn from the jam also brings a spicy sensation to the finish
Mouthfeel: Medium body with low to moderate carbonation; tingly pepper tones join the puckery sensation
Overall: My first AWAS beer and it is clear that Fonta Flora has reserved its best for this series; such an impressive range of flavor and the black peppercorn is an exclamation point

750ml bottle poured into a teku
Pours an orange color with a pink hue, one-finger foamy white head. Lots of red berries on the nose; raspberries, cherries and strawberries, acidic tartness. Taste follows the nose, cherry and raspberries lead the way, similarities to a Flanders red. Nice tartness on the finish with more berries on the linger
