Found this at the Toronado. Pours jet black, the color of used motor oil, with coffee colored foam. There’s a big roasty punch to the nose, followed by a smooth, viscous taste. Delicious.

Enjoyed on tap at the Dive Bar tap takeover.
A - Poured into a tulip a dark black hue with a thin mocha head that fades to leave light wisps and a thin blanket.
S - Big aromas of chocolate and coffee beans, cinnamon, very very light peppers though.
T - Taste is similar to the nose with loads of chocolate and cinnamon. The vanilla is super subtle as is the chili peppers.
M - Mouthfeel is lightly carbonated, creamy, smooth.
O - Overall this was a solid enough imperial stout but the peppers were really lackluster.

Appearance: Arrives espresso colored with a thin beige cap; leggy and spotty lacing
Smell: Rich chocolate aromatics with the cinnamon and vanilla tones emerging; some ancho chili in the back
Taste: Dark chocolate forward with the cinnamon emerging along with the ancho chile; the vanilla doesn’t emerge until after the swallow; not overly sweet with a good tingle on the finish
Mouthfeel: Full bodied with moderate carbonation; some warmth in the gullet
Overall: All the adjuncts here play well in the sandbox so the overall impact is quite satisfying
