Brewed in collaboration with Olde Hickory Brewery, the OG stout makers of North Carolina. Mashed with southern select two row barley from our good friends at Riverbend Malt House of Asheville, North Carolina along with a decadent blend of the finest caramel, chocolate and roasted malts. Fermented cool with our preferred house ale yeast for a luxurious mouthfeel and perfect residual sweetness. Aged additionally with local coffee.

750ml bottle
Poured into a snifter
A- pours a deep black color with a one-finger foamy khaki colored head that reduces to a ring around the glass
S- chocolate and herbal coffee on the nose up front, along with some light honey sweetness, anise, roast, caramel and vanilla
T- creamy chocolate and herbal coffee up front, along with undertones of black licorice, charred malt & vanilla cream. Mid-palate adds notes of caramel and dark chocolate. The finish brings out a distinct homey sweetness and lingers of more coffee
M- medium body with moderate carbonation leads to a slightly creamy mouthfeel that continues into the finish
O- nice coffee and chocolate notes throughout, with the honey coming through on the finish

Appearance: Pours espresso colored with a one finger beige head that fades to a ringlet and archipelago; spotty lacing
Smell: The coffee tones blend with the chocolate, bringing the fruity character typical of espresso
Taste: As with the aroma, the fruity espresso blends with the chocolate flavor; lightly roasted tones and hop flavors emerge, in the middle, and blend with the base aspects in the finish
Mouthfeel: Medium to full body with moderate carbonation
Overall: A nice coffee stout but I preferred the vanilla version to this one
