A fresh-hopped pilsner brewed with local Cascade hops.
Mashed with local barley along with a pinch of dextrin malt for a crispy yet luxuriously sturdy body. Steeped in our mash-tun-turned-hop back on hundreds of pounds of fresh and local hops courtesy of skye 2 farm of Old Beech Mountain, North Carolina.
A very exciting time in the brewhouse, the opportunity to brew with fresh hops only comes around once a year. Referring to the use of hops before they are dried, fresh hops need to be used immediately after harvest and boast delicate aromatics of cut grass, spice and citrus. We hope you enjoy this very special and extremely limited and extra fresh lager beer.

I am sure I’ve had pilsners with American hops, but this one is easily the most obvious - maybe due to Cascade being the only hop?
The expectations of a more traditional German beer is throwing off my rating. The beer has a pungent slightly dank, old grapefruit pith aroma and taste that covers the Pilsner malt profile. This is leaning into IPL territory, in my mind. As just a beer, there’s a very light cracker background to the aforementioned earthy pine, a profile I am not too averse to if I’m expecting something in that realm.

CANNED ON 10212019
Slightly hazed gold with a puffy white head. Spicy, leafy hop nose...a bit of lager yeast. Similar flavor, a sort of wild hop character with more grass than citrus. Just a little sweetness from the malt and continued lager-y notes. Medium-light, pretty crisp, nice and drinkable. Tasty.
