Appearance: Pours a pellucid coffee color with a two finger head that fades to a collar; strands of lacing

Taste: Roasted malt and charred oak forward with the chocolate emerging; a hint of coffee arrives, after the swallow; the finish is earthy and woody
Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation
Overall: A nice Schwarz with a twist from the oak

Purchased Spring 2020 at FF Charlotte. 16oz can poured into a 20oz nonic. Deep burgundy red with little carbonation. Smells of fresh cut oak. The taste really shines. Big oaky woodiness along with some Smokey tastes along with a mild chocolate. A little bit on the dry side but not too dry. Maybe a bit on the thin side but not a thin beer. Overall I love this beer. I have a current fresh can I will try to do a side by side with soon. If you are even near FF stop in. They do great beers with hyper local ingredients and these beers are just super impressive.

Black and fairly thin on the pour, with a full finger of creamy head that sticks around. Floral, granite, oaky on the nose, with additions of birch bark, light anise, and a touch of nutty coffee on the palate.

Black body topped with a thick, semi-creamy; sudsy head. Nice smell combination of charred grain and chocolate; initial hint of raw oak that soon disappears. Outstanding flavors of dark chocolate; a touch of vanilla; a coffee-like element; muted bitterness; well-hidden woodiness. Heavy body; rich and smooth on the palate; oily residual sugars and associated sweetness; a light dryness on the finish.
Oak Stand brings a fine malt-forward richness to the palate. It has a soothing mouthfeel and a warm, inviting dark lager flavor.

16 ounce can with a smudged date code. I’m assuming it’s fresh as it came from a trusted source. Poured into a stemless glass. I like the label too.
Pours a solid schwarz color, little head that quickly fizzes away. Appears thin on the pour.
Upon cracking the can open, I got heavy roast. Once in the glass I get aromas of roasted malt, charred wood, burnt coffee and cocoa.
Taste follows closely. Roasted malts, freshly cut oak and charred oak, dark bitter chocolate, hints of vanilla and coffee. Earthy and woody hops bring a sort of hop bitterness to the beer. Thankfully, this drinks fuller than it appears on the pour. Smooth and well balanced that finishes crisp and drier but leaves me wanting more after every sip. I like how complex this it and how it keeps my interest from start to finish. This is a nice example of a Schwartzbier and I’m glad to have tried it.
