Pours pitch black, minimal head . Massive raspberry aroma with a touch of chocolate. Flavor is predominantly chocolate covered raspberries, bourbon barrel flavor is perfect. Minimal carbonation, thick & creamy. Overall a delicious beer, glad I tried it.

Received a 750 ML bottle via trade from former BA @BMBCLT on 1-14-23. Originally made available February 2022, consumed 2-2-24. Must have been intended for Valentines Day 2022.
Beer poured black with an okay tan head that dissipated quickly.
Nose is raspberry forward with notes of cocoa nibs and a light trace of bourbon in the background.
Taste is a large mild roasted malt base that incorporates the raspberry puree and cocoa nibs nicely. Raspberry initially was overwhelming but as my palate acclimates all the recipe elements become apparent. The barrels come across as being there for balancing purposes and does impart some boozy heat and has accomplished what i believe is intended by the brewing team as this is not overly sweet, just raspberry and nib forward.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied and smooth.
Overall an interesting beer to try, thanks for the opportunity @BMBCLT!

Appearance: Arrives espresso colored with a decent head that fades to a ringlet while leaving splotches of lacing
Smell: Raspberry and chocolate truffle with a hint of Bourbon
Taste: Jammy raspberry forward with chocolate flavors emerging into a truffle; a hint of Bourbon through the middle, but the forward flavors re-emerge in the finish
Mouthfeel: Medium to full body with low carbonation
Overall: A bit sweeter than I would like and the Bourbon is not as pronounced as it could be - better than the opposite, though, for a delicately flavored stout like this
