Canning date obstructed. Maybe it’s 9/18/23 but I’m not sure
I’ve been getting into Fonta Flora over the past year or so. The only other IPA I had from them was really good so I’m hoping for the same here, though the one rating so far does have me a bit weary. Let’s crack it open and see what it’s all about
Pours a hazy pale gold with 3 fingers of soapy off white head that slowly fades to a cap and leaves decent lacing
To my delight, the Sabro does not overwhelm the nose, rather it adds a nice finishing note. I’m picking up on aromas of mango skin, orange juice, dank weed, bready malt, woody hops, overripe cantaloupe, and toasted coconut
Things get a bit sharper in taste but it’s still pretty good all things considered. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting orange juice, bready malt, lemon zest, mango skin, toast coconut, grassy hops, and papaya. The swallow brings notes of orange juice, bready malt, toasted coconut, woody hops, dank weed, lemon zest, and white pepper
A medium body pairs with gentle carbonation, resulting in a slick beer. Finishes mostly dry and slightly astringent
This isn’t my favorite from Fonta Flora by any means, but it’s still pretty damn good despite its flaws
