Can dated 01/24/24, so I'm reviewing with the idea that this can is old and isn't fully there in terms of hop profile.
Look is blacker than black. It makes some stouts look mild in comparison. Not a super strong scent but mostly burnt coffee and dark malts, with a little hoppy citrus. Taste is primarily roasty dark coffee with a fun red fruit and lime-ish finish. Some pine notes as well, but mostly dominated by the intense coffee flavor. Not too bitter, not unpleasant at all, but not incredibly hoppy. It tastes more like a very hoppy American stout to me. Feel is very good. It's light and smooth, but still quite crisp, and the lack of sweetness and medium body make it quite drinkable.
Tasty beer, but didn't feel like a proper black IPA to me. I was disappointed, but I feel as though the hops were lacking due to the age of the can.

A: Pours an opaque yet still clear very dark cola brown approaching jet black in color with moderate amounts of fine active visible carbonation rising along the edges of the glass and moderate dark chestnut brown + dark amber + dark ruby red colored highlights. The beer has a three finger tall dense creamy sudsy foamy tan head that slowly reduces to a large patch of thick pillowy film covering the entire surface of the beer and a thick ring at the edges of the glass. Light amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate to strong aromas of citrus/grapefruit + citrus/grapefruit zest + gooseberry + pine/resin hops over the top of moderate aromas of roasted + dark + toasted + biscuit malts with a light amount of grainy sweetness.
T: Upfront there are moderate flavors of roasted + dark + toasted + biscuit malts with a light amount of grainy sweetness. That is followed by moderate to strong flavors of citrus/grapefruit + citrus/grapefruit zest + gooseberry + pine/resin hops which impart a light to moderate amount of lingering bitterness.
M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Slightly crisp upfront.
O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol and a pleasantly slightly crisp + refreshing mouthfeel. Enjoyable with complementary flavors/aromas from the roasted malts and the citrus/gooseberry/pine hops.
