16 oz can from the Appalachian Vintner in Asheville NC ($4.67). Served in a Tervis at the Spring 2025 ASMF.
This Imperial porter has the ABV and appearance expected, but the flavor is richer and bolder.

Picked up a 16 oz single from the Blue Door Bottleshop in Hendersonville 1-27-25 for $6.00. Canned on 12-12-24; consumed 3-19-25. Cold stored since purchase.
Beer poured dark brown with an excellent off-white head.
Nose is malty, almost getting some astringency without any notable attributes.
Taste is nice, getting a nice chocolate and coffee from the mild roasted malt base. Finishes with a touch of caramel and salt with a style appropriate sweetness. Hopping and rost help balance in the end.
Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied and smooth.
Overall, a nice take on the original Darwin!
