Pitch black opaque body with a brown head. Smells of rich, dark chocolate with rugged bourbon barrel, leading the nose with tones of earth, char, molasses, and tobacco supporting. Taste starts with the bourbon barrel, lending notes of rustic oak, molasses, reason, dried plum, and char, then lush, rich dark chocolate, with friendly coffee bean, vanillins, and roasted malts, finished with an earthy and tobacco bite. Feel is shaped by roast, tannins, booze, and rustic nature, deep and heavy without being too thick, dries out beautifully

Fonta Flora is having a party and they've only invited their friends Elijah and Russel. This party involves beer making and it extends into a double barreled slumber party. Their results become a party for all of us and our tastebuds.
Jet black and pouring ominously viscous, Double Barrel-Aged Decoy celebrates Elijah Craig and Russell's Reserve barrels while swoons the senses with a robust perfume of coffee, cocoa, whisky, wood and not-so-nuanced caramel and coconut immediately after its dainty creme of froth settles. Sweet on the tongue, its first sip provides a lavish malt profile of blackstrap molasses, toffee, honey and candied coconut. Savory toasted flavors of espresso, bittersweet chocolate, campfire and nutty oak all pull from the barrel and give the taste a deeply oaken balance.
Full bodied, full flavored and continuing to provide nuanced flavors of coconut, vanilla, caramel and whisky char, the imperial stout proves to be the most epic stout party ever.

Had this side by side with the Fonta Flora Decoy - Double Barrel-Aged - Barton 1792 And Four Roses. Batch #1 bottled December 2024.
Look - Pours a dark black color with a small brown head. The head has smaller bubbles than the Barton 1792 And Four Roses version I'm drinking next to it.
Smell - Heavy bourbon notes. I'm liking the smell on this a bit more than the Barton 1792 And Four Roses version as the smell is more pronounced.
Taste - Malt, bourbon, oak. Like the smell, the bourbon taste is more pronounced on this one.
Feel - Lighty carbonated. A slight bourbon aftertaste.
Overall - A decent stout overall. I'll admit, I often prefer stouts with more adjuncts than this. :-)
