August 2017: Shared bottle at local tasting. ABV is 5.6%. Hazy pale straw colour, huge white head. Overcarbonated. Yeasty, spicy and fruity aroma, quite nice. Citric / fruity and slightly acidic flavour, some fruit too.

A great find.
I was a bit skeptical. A family brewer from Lithuania puts a saison into a pop-top magnum for under $6. It is imported by a company in the Chicagoland suburbs (this area has the highest concentration of Lithuanians outside of that Baltic country.) So I'm certain there is no market for this beer and I am the sucker buying the last bottles from Binny's who has had this on their shelves for far longer than the want.
I like being wrong about my assumptions, because I learn faster.
My assumptions were disproved as soon as I got a robust pop from this top. While producing a voluminous head, the ale behaved nicely, Looked pils-pretty and had an active yeast driving a protein swirl. Smells are closer to average, mostly malty fruit from a tree. Tastes are similar; pleasant, close to complex but lacking pizazz. I prefer saisons with a bit more spicing; but nothing wrong here, only missing. In the world of saisons, it is much harder to get the yeast right than the spicing. And Davra's yeast is much closer to the masters' than, I'll guess, half the saisons I've had.
Mouth is medium, but the carbonation scrubs the tongue and gets it ready for more food... a key job of a saison and this one did it well. Made my soup seem like I was an expert chef. (I'm not.)
My first from Davra, so I go on their website and mercifully, I find the English button and the pictures suddenly make sense. The site is minimal, but is as sincere as this ale. If I ever make it to Lithuania, I'd like this brewery to be a stop.
This find is why we hunt beer. In unexpected corners, we find the love of ale shared. And at a good value !

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
