Glass: Ball 16-oz. mason jar
Price: $14.99 for a mixed 4-pack
From: Blind Lady Ale House

Misc.: No canned on date
Grabbed a special St. Patrick’s mixed 4-pack when I saw it available at Blind Lady Ale House. I love that BLAH is doing these lately as I’m on their website every day. Untappd description for this one was, “Our Russian Imperial Stout with oak chips. Shake the can and pour straight to activate the Nitro!” I gave the base Faction Imperial Stout a 3.50 on Untappd on June 14, 2015 for a taster but hoping with the oaked chips this would be better.
Poured a pitch-black color with six fingers of rocky, khaki tan head. Calm setting underneath the head. Excellent foamy lacing. World-class retention. (Sight - 4.50)
Smelled roasty malts, bitter coffee, cacao, dark chocolate, caramel, molasses, anise, oak and vanilla. (Smell - 4.00)
Tasted a little better than the nose and got a little more oak. In order roasty malts, bitter coffee, cacao, dark chocolate, oaky wood, caramel, semi-char wood, molasses, anise and vanilla. (Taste - 4.00)
Full body. Creamy-to-sticky texture. Average carbonation. Long, smooth finish. (Feel - 4.50)
This was excellent overall, but not as much oak as I would have hoped. (Overall - 4.25)
