Our 10.2% abv Imperial Stout made with Cacao in the boil as well as in the fermenter. Lots of oats/flaked barley for soft mouthfeel. We call it "The Chocolate Hammer."

Poured stout black with a surprisingly short lived brown head.
Aroma lost on me, stupid Covid.
The taste is coffee forward with some vanilla, the stout was very present throughout. The cocoa beans are slight yet noticeable. Not sure why the "Chocolate Hammer" was more akin, for me anyway, to a coffee stout that one featuring chocolate, but it was very good tasting nonetheless.
The feel is a little thinner than most BA stouts but very easy drinking.
OA, this was delicious and I am very glad to have been able to try it.

Review form 5/26/2014: 32oz. howler served in a stemless wineglass. Pours slightly darker than cola with a quarter inch, khaki-colored head that sizzles and pops as it slowly recedes into a broken slick. An undulating band of lacing encircles the bowl of the glass. Nose expresses roast, cocoa, lactose and a hint of artificial vanilla. Taste follows nose with with a suggestion of spice, cocoa nibs, licorice and perhaps a suggestion of caramel. Mouthfeel is light-medium in body, perhaps a little thin, with an easy, even carbonation and a touch of acidity. Overall, a very good stout with a well-hidden abv. This is a tasty beer that has an interesting flavor profile without the emphasis on the char and roast typical of the style.

This batch was poured from a growler filled on 10/30/15 to a Grey Sail flute glass. Per Proclamation's website, the ABV this time around is 11.5%.
The roastiness is more subdued than I remember with a little more sweetness - one change from earlier versions likely due to the higher residual sugars and ABV. The oats and flaked barley do lead to a softer mouthfeel, although slightly thin for the style. Also caramel and dark fruit make an appearance.
Be warned though, this beer is quite hot going down the hatch! I get some alcohol burn, but fortunately it does not make an appearance until after the initial tasting.
