Dangerously crushable AWA. That's not always a good thing as I like a bit more sour in my sours, but the taste of sweet cherries is spot on. Can't help but compare it to another local favorite in MvB, and this certainly holds it own. Proclamation seems to be doing good things...

As good as anything the hype beasts are producing, absolute sublime execution of the american wild. Massive lactic fruit notes burst from the bottle the second the cap is removed. Pours a murky bright ruby red reminiscent of cherry raz bu. Nose is a massive wave of tart sour cherries, some pomegrante, slightest tinge of oak. Oak is lost on the palette as the sour cherries dominate, the perfect amount of puckering without becoming overbearing with no acetic vinegar notes.
My first trip out to the brewery after having a few of the derivate series beers on tap, I'll be a staple at every sour release moving forward if I can expect anything close to something like this work of art again. Fuck yes.

EBF sample pour. Pours rather red. Actually I recall this being a pretty beer. I am a sucker for a beer taking on the color of the fruit it interacts with. The aroma was initially pretty fruity and tart. Soft wood. Cherries are noticed. The flavor & nose are close; not much variance. Tart cherries win out. The oak character is light. Would't mind more of this in a different setting.

On tap at Armsby Abbey on Zwanze, and at Row 34 pre-EBF:

Appearance: light purple/dark red, which would be maroon I guess....any way, this brew has got a very unique color, along with visible carbonation in the glass. Pure white head sitting on top, comprised of many little bubbles, with some thicker bubbles in there too. Dissipates rather quickly, not leaving much lacing.

Aroma: very tart, with a little bit of wood, and some sweet cherry. Fresh smelling.

Taste: very acetic and tart, but with tons of cherry character. Not sure how long this was aged in oak, but again, there's a little bit of wood on the tongue as well. Picks up a little bit of citrus too perhaps. Dominating flavor though, is definitely the tart cherry, with some slight bitterness of the pit at the end.

Feel: light-bodied and with medium carbonation, the acidity shines.

Overall: light, flavorful, and delicious. Can't wait to scoop some bottles of this at the brewery when it is released.
