Cloudy orange-gold pour with a nice two-finger pillow of white lacing foam. The nose is citrus--red grapefruit, orange peel. Was expecting a NEIPA, but this beer has a nice balance of juice and bitterness. A good refresher with balance and substance.

Super-hazy NEIPA, but not a fruit bomb. Balanced with bitterness.

Appearance is among the haziest NEIPA I’ve ever seen. Nicely cloudy, yellow/orange.

Smell is luscious grapefruit forward, secondary orange rind, lime, and stone fruit.

Feel is slightly acidic/tangy. Low carbonation.

Taste initially follows the smell. Grapefruit, then lime, lemon, orange rind, and stone fruit. Dank comes in the middle, followed by more bitterness than expected from the strong grapefruit smell and initial taste.

If you like your hazy NEIPAs with a moderate (above average) dose of bitterness, this is your beer.

 

 

 

 

 

16oz can into a pint glass. Canned 5/28/20, so almost 2 months old.

Pours a dirty dull orange body with a solid white head. The head persists all the way down, though leaves only a trace of lacing.

Dull non citrus fruit aroma.

Slightly earthy taste, a touch hoppy, not unpleasant, lightly bitter towards the end.

Mouth seems foamy and full, though gets a touch watery in the finish. Also faintly warm and bitter.

Overall, a bit of a confusing beer. Not unpleasant in any way, just a touch off in most categories.

 

16oz can from Tavour. Hazy yellow, cloudy, small fine white head. Fruity, citrusy aroma. Soft citrusy flavors, sweet, light floral notes, bit of bitterness. Really smooth.

 

Poured from 16oz tall can into my BeerAdvocate teku. Canned 5/28/20.

Appearance: super hazy medium yellow-orange hue with two fingers of lively ivory foam atop. It looks great!

Smell: dankness with a touch of citrus. Murky and enticing.

Taste: dank but not super earthy; there's also orange peel and a bit of grapefruit too. Bitterness is low at first, but builds slowly. This is a really good beer.

Mouthfeel: medium body with a big carbonation and really great creaminess for the style.

Overall: typically I like dank OK, but don't go out of my way to get it. This beer, however, is great.

Poured into a 16 oz Snulip glass canned on 12/28/2019. Pours an attractive orange yellow with a 2 finger sticky white head that leaves thin streaks of lace with solid retention. 4.25

Smell is a little muted pineapple, tangerine, mango, and apricot. 3.75

Taste follows a little bolder pineapple, mango, tangerine, and apricot. 4

Mouthfeel is bigger than average, a tad sticky not dry, drinks like 6.6%, and goes down very easy. 4

Overall very solid, no real wow factor but still nice and easy sipping. 4

A murky and dirty looking golden color with subtle amber hues within. A white foam upcropping in medium height receded quick to a decent scattered later of Lacy foam behind.

The smell of pine soaked candy citrus and melon rind is very high tones and upfront. The malt seems sweetly honey scented with golden grains of dry summer fields.

Pine.. pine and citrus Tang rings true once again. Slightly bitter herbs and spices seem to pop out of the hop flavor as well. Spicy cantaloupe and dry earthy grains ride in somewhere in the middle of the second sip. (Or was it the third??)... At any rate the hop density seems high, with a unique mix of West Coast hop flavor's , and feels but within the outer edge of the New England IPA styles.

A medium bodied, and crisp first bite then turns quickly left,
as the malty texture catches up quickly with a long and slick ride home.

The hops are bold and brash. Hybrid like sensibilities with West and East coast charms that almost finds a harmonious relationship with one another inside Ethereous.

Notes via stream of consciousness: Nice package design and name. Massive head of slightly off-white foam it's a bit feisty after 3 months in the can! Hazy golden body with a bit of an orange sheen in the full pint glass. So far, so good. The aroma is bright with tropical fruit including pineapple and citrus. There's a note of actual yeast though which isn't so pleasant. Keep in mind, most people probably won't notice it though. I also get some sweetish malt and a hint of melon. On to the flavor... as you'd expect it's similar but a little fuller. I'm not tasting yeast, but there is a light acidity to it. The fruity flavors remain as they are in the aroma which is a little weird because usually you find more to it. I'm getting orange more clearly though, and some citrus pith. It's a good balance between lightly sweetish malt and hop flavors, backed by a moderate bitterness. It's exactly what the kids want these days but not as hoppy or juicy as it could be - still, it's interesting and really easy to drink. I'm not sure it would keep my interest beyond one serving, but that's just me, I'm always looking for "more" or something different. In the mouth it's medium-light in body with a gentle zestiness and then a smoother caress due to the extra proteins - no problems there. Overall I think it's pretty good but it's not a shining example of the juicy NEIPA style, which is, I assume, what they were going for. Hmmm, I can actually see yeast settled at the bottom of the glass. I've found that before, and to be honest, in even greater amounts, but that explains why I could smell it upfront.
